Conduct & Behaviour
By attending the UAS Challenge, you are representing your university. Please respect the venue, its facilities, staff, and other users at all times.
Keep your area tidy, manage noise levels, and behave responsibly throughout your stay.
Inappropriate conduct may be reported and could impact participation.
BMFA Campsite Rules
- No campfires.
- Disposable barbecues and stoves are permitted; however, care must be taken when using and disposing of these. Only dispose of used barbecues once fully extinguished and NEVER use barbecues or stoves inside any tents/buildings. BBQs must be off the floor (no grass scorching). Use may be restricted during dry weather conditions.
- Smoking is available only within the designated area. Please ensure all butts are disposed of in the sand buckets provided within the Smoking Area.
- Generators must be switched off by 10:00 pm and must be positioned and used with consideration for other campers.
- There is no access to fridge space on-site.
- No model aircraft of any type may be flown on the campsite.
- Vehicle movements within the campsite must be kept to a minimum.
- Please consider/respect other residents on-site.
- Toilet and shower facilities, including female-only blocks, will be available on-site.
Medical
24 hour medical support will be available on the campsite during the event dates (12:00 on 29 June - 19:00 on 2 July).
Alcohol, Drugs & Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Alcohol consumption at any time
- Illegal drug use at any time
- Behaviour that causes damage, risk, or reputational harm
- Smoking or vaping outside designated areas
The IMechE operates a zero tolerance policy. Breaches may result in removal from the event and escalation where appropriate.

CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) reserves the right to refuse any booking request or form for any reason. The IMechE reserves the right to cancel any booking at any time and for any reason.
Registration will be confirmed by the IMechE team following the closing of the registration period.
CANCELLATIONS
The Institution reserves the right to cancel any event.
The IMechE will not be held accountable for any acts, events, omissions or accidents which are beyond their reasonable control and may affect delivery of the UAS Challenge including, without limitation, any abnormally inclement weather, flood, lightning, storm, fire, explosion, earthquake, subsidence, structural damage, pandemic, epidemic or other natural physical disaster, transport disruption, failure or shortage of power supplies, war, military operations, riot, crowd disorder, strike, lock-outs or other industrial action, terrorist action, civil commotion and any legislation, regulation, ruling or omission (including failure to grant any necessary permission) of any relevant government, court, competent national authority.
Please note that while details pertaining to the Challenge were confirmed at the time of publishing, circumstances beyond the control of organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations.
In the event that, for whatever reason, the IMechE is unable to deliver any part of the Challenge, the IMechE reserves the right to substitute alternative benefits.
LIABILITY
The organisers do not accept liability for any injuries or losses of any nature incurred by participants and/or accompanying persons, nor for loss or damage to their luggage and/or personal belongings.
DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
The IMechE may permit selected third parties, such as industry partners, to use your data to provide you with information about goods and services which will be beneficial to you. If at any time you do not wish your contact details to be shared for marketing purposes, you can simply let us know using the contact details in the ‘Your Rights’ section below.
IMechE will only disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent if it is;
- under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or
- in order to enforce or apply the terms and conditions of supply and other agreements; or
- to protect the rights, property, or safety of IMechE, its members or others.
- for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
IMechE may disclose your personal information to any of its wholly owned subsidiaries.
IMechE media representatives may operate at this event, including photographers and videographers. By participating in this event, you agree that content containing your likeness may be reproduced and shared across the IMechE’s media platforms for the purpose of promotion, without fee or royalty payment. Photographic and video content may also be made available for public use.
